"The company is hilarious and moving in turns. Benitez is an earthy, energized comic (his delightful cumbia recalls Cantinflas or Tin Tan's streetsmart pachuco). Mauricio Martinez is a howl, the perfect quizzical- faced straight man. Playwright Mercedes Gómez Benet's beautiful contralto voice, her gravitas as she stamps her feet beating out a zapateo, her compositions all give a structure to the piece. Ernesto Anaya, who sings and plays soulful violin and jarana has a mobile face-which drips with comic and dramatic inflection in turns. So much theatre from four flesh and blood players and their paper ensemble."
